How Solven Structures Its Programmes
All three Solven programmes share the same underlying principle: document automation capability is built from understanding structure, not from learning software shortcuts. A staff member who understands why a merge field works the way it does will be able to apply that knowledge to a new tool far more readily than one who memorised a series of menu steps.
Programmes are sequenced so that each tier assumes no knowledge from the one before — a team can start at any level. However, organisations that have completed the workshop before engaging the consulting track typically move through the inventory phase faster because staff are already familiar with the terminology.
All materials are created in-house. There is no third-party content licensing that would prevent us from adapting examples to local document formats or updating instructions when tool interfaces change.
Logic-first curriculum
Teaching the principles behind template structure, not platform-specific menus
Hands-on outputs at every tier
Participants produce working files, not just conceptual knowledge
Malaysian document context
Examples drawn from procurement, HR, finance documents common in Malaysian organisations
Reviewed content cycle
All programmes reviewed at least annually to keep tool behaviour instructions current

MOD-002 · In-person · 2 days
Document Automation Workshop for Teams
A two-day in-person workshop for cross-functional operations teams. Day one covers principles, document mapping, and template logic structures using common business tools. Day two is hands-on, with each pairing of participants building a working template for a real internal document under guided support. Output is a portfolio of starter templates the team can refine internally and adapt with their qualified advisors as needed.
What participants leave with:
At least one working template built around a real document from their organisation
A shared document map produced on Day 1 as a record of existing document types
Handout materials covering the template logic covered across both days
A shared vocabulary for discussing document structure within the team
Two-day structure:
Principles, document mapping, and template logic — building a shared understanding of the current document landscape and how templates address it
Hands-on build session — each participant pair selects a real document and constructs a working template under facilitator guidance

MOD-003 · Consulting · ~10 weeks
Internal Document Automation Programme Build
A consulting engagement spanning roughly ten weeks, supporting a mid-sized organisation in designing and building a structured internal document template programme. Includes inventory mapping, template design sessions, build of an initial set of three to five priority templates, training of internal owners, and a written handover document. Output is a working starter system plus the documentation needed for internal teams to maintain it onward.
Engagement deliverables:
Document inventory: a structured map of the organisation's recurring document types, prioritised by volume and complexity
Three to five production-ready templates built to an agreed specification
Training sessions for the staff who will own and maintain the templates going forward
Written handover document covering how each template works and how to modify it
Maintenance guidance so internal teams can expand the system independently
Engagement phases:
Kickoff and document inventory — mapping the current document landscape
Prioritisation — agreeing the three to five templates to build in the engagement
Design and build sessions — template construction with review cycles
Internal owner training — preparing the staff who will maintain the system
Handover — written documentation and close-out session
