About Solven

Helping Operations Teams Work More Deliberately with Documents

Solven was set up to address a specific gap in how Malaysian organisations approach document process improvement — with practical education materials, not abstract theory.

Our Background

How Solven Came to Be

Solven started from a straightforward observation: most operations teams in Malaysia already know their documents are inconsistent, slow to produce, and difficult to hand over when staff change. The harder question — how to build a repeatable process without a software budget or an IT department — rarely had a satisfying answer.

The Solven programmes were built to fill that gap. Rather than selling a platform or promoting a particular tool, the focus is on equipping staff with the underlying logic of structured documents: how templates work, how conditional fields behave, how a document inventory helps teams prioritise their efforts.

The workshop format was tested with cross-functional operations teams at mid-sized organisations in Kuala Lumpur and Selangor before being refined into the three programme tiers now on offer. Feedback from early participants shaped the pace, the worked examples, and the handover documentation that is now a standard part of the consulting engagement.

Solven operates from KL Eco City and serves organisations across Klang Valley and beyond. The team combines backgrounds in operations management, instructional design, and document process consulting.

Mission

To give operations staff at Malaysian organisations the understanding and the materials they need to build cleaner, more consistent document processes — using tools they already have.

Approach

We work from the document up — not from the software down. Every programme starts by mapping what documents teams actually produce, then builds practical capability around those specific use cases.

Values

  • Useful over impressive — content is judged by whether teams can apply it
  • Handover as standard — every engagement is designed to end cleanly
  • Plain language — no jargon that obscures rather than clarifies

Our Standards

How We Work

Programme Quality Review

Each programme module is reviewed by at least two team members before it is used with participants. Content is updated when tool interfaces or document standards change.

Participant Data Handling

Contact and enrolment information is collected only for programme delivery and communication purposes. We do not share participant data with third parties for marketing.

Clear Scope Agreements

For the consulting engagement, a written scope is agreed before work begins. Changes to scope are discussed and documented before additional work is undertaken.

Iterative Development

Workshop content is refined after every cohort based on participant feedback. The foundations course receives at least one content review per year to reflect current tool behaviour.

Handover as Standard

Every consulting engagement concludes with a written handover document. Organisations are not left dependent on Solven for routine maintenance of what we build together.

Responsive Communication

Enquiries are acknowledged within one business day. During active consulting engagements, a named point of contact is available throughout the ten-week period.

About Our Work

Document Process Work in Malaysian Organisations

Operations teams in Malaysia handle a considerable volume of recurring documents — purchase orders, quotation letters, internal requisition forms, onboarding packs, and reporting templates that are regenerated week after week. When those documents are produced manually, without consistent structure, small errors compound over time: field names change, calculations drift, and version confusion slows approval processes.

Document automation — at the level Solven programmes address — is not about specialist software. It is about applying structure to documents that already exist: building field logic, establishing version naming conventions, and training the staff who produce and handle those documents to work within a consistent system.

Solven programmes are built around the realities of Malaysian operations environments: SST documentation formats, Bahasa Malaysia and English bilingual structures, common HR and procurement document patterns, and the typical tools available in SME and mid-sized corporate settings. This specificity is what distinguishes the programme content from general automation training materials that are not adapted for local context.

The three programme tiers — an online foundations course, a team workshop, and a full internal programme build — are designed to be used at different stages of an organisation's readiness. An individual staff member can complete the foundations course independently; a cross-functional team can attend the workshop when they are ready to apply principles together; and an organisation that wants a working system can engage the consulting track for a structured, hands-on build.
